Novum’s corporate finance team acts as Financial Advisers to Standard Listed companies on the London Stock Exchange and as Corporate Advisers on the Aquis Stock Exchange. The team is dedicated to building long-term relationships with its clients by providing independent corporate finance advice in managing and executing the IPO process, working with a wide range of brokers and advisers, to ensure the best possible outcome. Beyond the IPO, we advise a wide range of businesses on their ongoing regulation commitments as well as providing advice on restructurings and future mergers and acquisitions.

Our corporate finance team

David Coffman
Head of Corporate Finance

David qualified as a chartered accountant at H W Fisher & Company in 1995 where he worked with SMEs across a wide range of sectors. Upon qualification he joined the London office of Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) where he gained exposure to large public companies and also worked on a number of significant corporate finance transactions.

David has been a small/mid cap corporate finance adviser since 1997, working with Main Market, AIM and AQSE companies as both adviser and broker on flotations, secondary fund raisings as well as providing on-going advice. He also has experience of pre-IPO funding, M&A transactions and providing Takeover Code advice. David joined Novum in January 2020 having previously been at Cairn Financial Advisers, Daniel Stewart & Co and Keith, Bayley, Rogers.

David graduated from the University of Manchester in Economics.

Daniel Harris
 

Daniel has nearly 30 years’ experience working in the City having first practiced as a corporate finance lawyer before moving into banking in 2005.

Daniel has a wide range of experience advising private and public companies on IPOs, secondary fund raisings, mergers and acquisitions and providing ongoing corporate and broking advice, working with UK and overseas clients listed on AQSE, AIM and the Main Market. Daniel is a sector generalist but has particular expertise in the renewables, retail and TMT sectors. Daniel joined Novum in 2022 having held senior positions at several investment banks in London including Peel Hunt (where he was for nearly 10 years) Shore Capital and Zeus.

Daniel graduated from the London School of Economics with a degree in Economics and holds a US investment banking qualification. 

Richard Potts
 

Richard qualified as a lawyer in 1982 and practised in Company and Commercial law until 1984 when he moved into the City to specialise in Corporate Finance at Sheppards and Chase. In 1988 he joined Panmure Gordon where, for 17 years, he gained experience advising on wide range of corporate transactions for both large and small companies across many sectors. Richard moved to Lazard, when it acquired Panmure Gordon, and then to Nomura Code in 2005 where he specialised in healthcare & cleantech companies.

In 2012, Richard co-founded Access Capital Markets which specialised is finding finance for pre-IPO companies and he also has experience of acting as a NonExecutive Director for a company seeking an IPO. In 2017, Richard returned to corporate finance firstly at Daniel Stewart and then Novum Securities from 2019 where he is a specialist in small cap corporate finance.

Richard is a barrister and a fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

George Duxberry
 

George joined the Novum Corporate Finance team in November 2021 after he completed a degree in Financial Mathematics at the University of Nottingham. George helps to analyse the markets for companies seeking IPO as well as preparing the documentation required for this process. Since joining Novum, George has worked on AQSE Growth Market Admissions, Main Market Listings and Takeover Code Assignments. 

Anastassiya Eley
 

Anastassiya is the newest member of our Corporate Finance team having joined Novum Securities in March 2023. Prior to joining Novum, she completed her degree in Chinese Studies at Durham University where she acted as Co-Head of the Finance Society’s Quant Finance Division.
